Māori and Pasifika Scholarships

NCNZ are pleased to announce the introduction of Māori and Pasifika Scholarships to eligible students for the following programmes:

  • New Zealand Certificate in Study and Career Preparation (Level 4) (Health Science)
  • New Zealand Diploma in Health Sciences (Level 5)

The purpose of the award is to provide Māori and Pasifika the opportunity to access scholarships to enable them to positively influence health and wellbeing within their Iwi, whanau and wider communities.  These scholarships reflect our commitment to engaging Māori and Pasifika students in developing skills and knowledge in good nutrition and healthy lifestyle choices based on current health science and wellness trends and, as an employment pathway.

Each scholarship is designed to cover tuition fees and text books for the programme listed that you have applied for up to the value of $7,000 (Note: if you are fees free eligible we will pay for text books)

Criteria:

  • Applicants must be of New Zealand Māori or Pasifika descent
  • Applicants must be enrolled in a full-time programme: New Zealand Certificate in Study and Career Preparation (Level 4) (Health Science) or New Zealand Diploma in Health Sciences (Level 5)

When do you need to apply:

  • September 2019 intake – currently open
  • February 2020 intake – by 22 December 2019

Rural Scholarships

NCNZ are pleased to announce the introduction of Rural Scholarships to eligible students for the following programmes:

  • New Zealand Certificate in Study and Career Preparation (Level 4) (Health Science)
  • New Zealand Diploma in Health Sciences (Level 5)

The purpose of the award is to provide rural students the opportunity to access scholarships to enable them to participate in educational opportunities to influence health and wellbeing within their communities and to provide a step solution to a shortage of rural health care workers in New Zealand.  This scholarship reflects our commitment to providing support and encouragement to students in isolated and rural locations to develop skills and knowledge in good nutrition and healthy lifestyle choices based on current health science and wellness trends and, as an employment pathway.

Each scholarship is designed to cover tuition fees and/or text books for the programme listed that you have applied for up to the value of $7,000  (Note: if you are fees free eligible we will pay for text books)

Criteria:

  • Applicants must be enrolled in a full-time programme: New Zealand Certificate in Study and Career Preparation (Level 4) (Health Science) or New Zealand Diploma in Health Sciences (Level 5)
  • A regional/rural area is defined as any part of New Zealand that does not fall within the local authority boundaries of the:
    • Auckland City Council
    • Hamilton City Council
    • Tauranga City Council
    • Wellington City Council
    • Porirua City Council
    • Hutt City Council
    • Upper Hutt City Council
    • Christchurch City Council
    • Dunedin City Council

When do you need to apply:

A completed application must be submitted by:

  • September 2019 intake – currently open
  • February 2020 intake – by 22 December 2019
